Since I come from a mix of some prominent families and with recently discovering some of the handwritten records my father's family kept, I am interested in identifying my roots. However, due to privacy and other concerns raised by some of those related to me, some such information derived will not be freely shared with the public (but may be made available to those who can show a familial link). As such, there may be times where detailed information at this web site is restricted. This directory represents and contains the unrestricted data. The search engine listing includes the ability to search this site as well as some public genealogy sites elsewhere on the Internet.
Archer Carlyle/Plotts Cummings Dow Frankel Schlittler Stüssi/Stussy Warnke/Warnecke
This is not meant to be an exhaustive list nor a "CLOSELY CONNECTED" list. It is merely a list of the surnames that I either gathered the most information on, families for which I host a web site, or have the most interest in at this time.
Data on surnames is broken up into two major immigrant groups. These groups are:
My current research has led me to a John Archer, born about 1822 in Ohio. He is a great-grandson in a poorly-documented sub-lineage of a well known Patrick Archer from Ireland. I only list data of John Archer's descendants.

Note: There may be other Archer families included in my database not related to the Patrick Archer lineage.
I was stuck for a while on a "Patrick Raymond Carlyle," born in April 1900 allegedly in Cripple Creek, CO. Since he was involved in the early Hollywood motion picture industry (behind the camera in the 1920's and in front in the 1930's), he apparently assumed this name. Having finally found his marriage certificate, I discovered his true name ("Raymond Carlyle Plotts" born in Los Angeles) and picked up the trail eastward towards Pennsylvania. However, I have not been able to connect up with the "Platz => Plotts" Family, losing the trail at about 1815. He is known as "Pat Carlyle" in the various Internet motion picture databases.(IMDB.com page)
Per LDS membership records, I do note that they list a Patrick Raymond Carlyle born in December 1900 in Los Angeles, CA. As best as I can tell, this is the same person as the one I sought. He apparently took steps to change his identity for his Hollywood screen career, but his parents' names, including his mother's maiden name, for both sets of records do match.
The main Cummings Family Association Web Site appears to be missing the more recent individuals in my line, but does carry thought their first few generations. However, some of the data that I have turned up seems to contradict the oral traditions and stories passed down - so contact is still appreciated for accuracy's sake.
Although not related by blood but by marriage, I was asked to trace this family; one of two Frankel families that settled in the Louisville, KY area, coming from Germany. I am also not the only person who has the data, but I include them so that I can harmonize the new data with that of the other researcher(s). As it turns out, there are Frankels all over Europe, but I concentrate only on this one family.
There are not many records involving this Swiss family. Apparently, it was a small, but well off family lineage that had a lot of intermarriage with the Stüssi family lineages. I have heard that despite the intermarriage, there has been a great deal of animosity between these families, but never to the point of an outright blood feud.
Schlittler means "sleigh-rider" or "sled-rider" literally, since the german noun schlitten means a sleigh or sled. Furthermore, a sled does appear on the Schlittler coat-of-arms (Die Schlittlerwappen), thus confirming this derrivation.
Although I do have many Warnke relations and Warnecke ancestors (originating from the Principality of Hannover), I am not responsible for the majority of the research regarding this lineage. One of my third cousins "beat me to it" by a year or more. I was able to fill in a missing information gap here and there, but nothing substantial. Some limited parts of the lineage do appear in publicly accessible genealogy web sites.
In the past, I have handed out GEDCOM files of part of my database, as appropriate to the request made. However, my database has grown to the size where this is no longer feasable. Anyone requesting data should also be aware of the site's privacy policy.
